Over-the-Counter (OTC) Benefits

Health is more than doctor visits and medicine. VillageCareMAX offers peace of mind by providing help for everyday needs through an Over-The-Counter (OTC) benefit card. You have the flexibility to use your OTC card for the items you need the most.

As a VillageCareMAX Medicare Total Advantage Member, you automatically get an OTC card with $300 per month to spend on the following:

  • New! Rent/Mortgage Assistance: You can use your allowance toward your rent or mortgage at the place where you live, as long as VISA is accepted as a form of payment.
  • Gas-at-the-Pump
  • Wireless, Internet, and Utility Bill Payment: You can use your OTC card to pay your internet, wireless, and utility bills at any in-store or online retailer that accepts VISA.
  • Home-Delivered Meals: Leave the cooking to us. Our partners deliver delicious and healthy meals right to your doorstep. The meals are tailored to each member and can be customized based on your medical condition, like diabetes, kidney problems, cancer and heart disease.
  • Groceries and Fresh Produce: Delivered right to your door. Members can order fresh produce, healthy cooking kits, and pantry essentials.

You will be provided with an easy-to-use card issued by Visa. Your card will arrive ready to use. And, with a dedicated member portal and phone app, you can find participating retailers, track how much you’ve spent, and how much you have left on your card.

Are you ready to start using your OTC Benefits?

Your FLEX benefits are available on the same OTC card to keep it simple. To make it simple to use your benefits.

Cost sharing and deductibles may vary based on the level of Medicaid & Extra Help that the beneficiary receives. Food & produce (grocery items), utilities, gas-at-the-pump, rent/mortgage assistance, and transportation for non-medical needs are a part of Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI). In order to be eligible to receive SSBCI benefits, enrollees must be determined to be chronically-ill, have a chronic condition (i.e. diabetes, chronic heart failure, cardiovascular disorder, chronic and disabling mental health conditions, stroke and/or other eligible conditions not listed), and meet coverage criteria. Some dental service limits and prior authorization requirements apply.
