Electronic Visit Verification

VillageCareMAX has partnered with HHAeXchange to roll out an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) solution for providers delivering managed care options and community services to people living in New York.

We’re committed to full compliance with federal EVV requirements under Section 12006(a) of the 21st Century Cures Act to help ensure the members we serve continue to receive safe, authorized, and well-documented care.

Starting October 1, 2026, all providers in the VillageCareMAX network are required to submit EVV data through HHAeXchange.

Provider FAQs

Why is EVV Necessary?

EVV is used to electronically record and verify in-home, applicable service visits to:

  • Ensure individuals receive services as planned and authorized

  • Improve accuracy of payment for services provided

  • Comply with state and federal regulations

Do I have to use HHAeXchange, or can I use another EVV vendor?

All providers must use either:

  • The HHAeXchange EVV Portal (at no cost)

  • An existing EVV vendor that integrates with HHAeXchange to aggregate visit data (providers must ensure their EVV vendor meets this requirement)

  • Note: If you currently use a third-party EVV system, you may continue to do so as long as your vendor meets the integration requirements to transmit data to HHAeXchange.

What if my current vendor doesn’t integrate with HHAeXchange?

  • If your current vendor does not meet those requirements, you will have to either use the HHAeXchange EVV Portal or switch to a vendor that integrates with HHAeXchange.

What other benefits does HHAeXchange offer outside of compliance?

  • Schedule management, based on authorizations and Plans of Care (POCs)

  • An easy-to-use caregiver mobile app with 23+ available languages

  • Seamless transmission of EVV data to the state aggregator
